Sapphire engagement ring with a genuine checkerboard cushion Fair Trade sapphire in a celery green color shade. The unique sapphire will be mounted in a half bezel setting in this unique engagement ring. The solitaire setting grows out of the rounded ring shank seamlessly. The ring will be carved out of wax , cast in precious metal alloy and hand set and hand finished.

I have only 1 sapphire left available as shown.

  • Weight:     1.26ct
  • Size:    6x6mm
  • Shape:     cushion cut
  • Clarity:     Eye Clean -at arms length, small inclusions at close up and under magnification
  • Treatment:     Heated
  • Origin:     Malawi, Fair Trade

The one shown in the ring mounting has a gorgeous soft warm green color with only a few faint inclusions. The few faint small inclusions can be seen under magnifications but are not noticeable at arm's length when the ring is worn at the finger. The faceted Sapphire is about 1.26 carat, 6 x 6 mm square. It's the sapphire shown in all first ring photos, the stone on the right in image #7 and on the left in image # 8.

The second sapphire is SOLD and made into the bridal ring set you see in last images and video. It has a cooler green shade and more needle-like rutile inclusions. Due to the inclusions it's a bit less expensive than the other one. Still the inclusions are not noticeable when the ring is worn. It just gives it a bit more speckle. The sapphire is about 1.3 carat, 6 x 6 mm square. It's the sapphire shown on the left in image #7 and on the right in image #8 (last image).

The top of both sapphires has a checkerboard facet design. The sapphires were mined in Malawi and are Fair Trade level 1 stone. Like most available sapphires the gemstones have been heated to enhance its color. Both are very lively stones with excellent cutting.

The sapphire is sourced from Columbia Gem House, a true pioneer in the fair trade gem marketplace. Fair Trade Gems are closely tracked from mine to market to ensure that every gem has been handled according to these strict protocols. Using ethically sources gemstones with recycled metals makes this an Eco-conscious engagement ring.

More sapphire information here.

The unique gemstone will be handset and the ring will have a mirror-polished finish (brushed satin finish is optional). The band width varies between 2.5 to 4 mm. Height above the finger about 6.5 mm (1/4").

Available in sizes 4 to 9, larger sizes may vary in price.

Material options:
Available in white & yellow gold, rose gold and platinum.

Ring is Made to Order- for the most up-to-date fabrication time frame please check my listed turnaround times below in the footer area.

Helpful sizing tips

  1. Fingers on a dominant hand are generally slightly larger than on non-dominant hands— make sure you measure the right finger on the correct hand!
  2. Rings with wider bands will fit a bit tighter. Consider selecting one 1/4 to 1/2 size up from your normal ring size.If you plan to measure one of your partner's rings, try to measure one with a similar width as the ring you want to purchase.
  3. For  stacking rings: for a more comfortable fit, consider selecting one 1/4 to 1/2 size up from your normal ring size.
  4. Make sure the finger is at normal body temperature — fingers can shrink or expand when hot or cold.
  5. Your fingers tend to change size throughout the day — the best time to measure your finger is the end of the day.
  6. If your knuckle is bigger, take 2 measurements and choose a size in between — ring needs to fit over knuckle but not be too loose or it will shift around.

My boyfriend is now my Husband!

This is a follow up review to "My boyfriend says it's beautiful."

He proposed and it was wonderful the fact that Alexandrite changes color made the proposal extra special because he checked the ring under an incandescent light and when he proposed it was outside and the ring was a beautiful blue color.

My only mild disappointment is that I don't live in with more incandescent lights so the ring is rarely purple, but when it is, it's really neat.

I got a custom band with an alexandrite in the center and that is also awesome. It honestly looks even better than I thought it would.

My boyfriend says it's beautiful.

I picked out this ring, but I still haven't seen it yet because my boyfriend says he wants to propose to me next month and that to be the first time I see it lol.

That being said, he says it's beautiful, clean and comfortable. (We have the same sized ring finger.) The alexandrite is even prettier in person than in the photos.

The cost is reasonable, and the craftsmanship is great. I also like knowing I supported a small business and working with support was pleasant when I wanted my other ring customized.
