Flat vs. Domed wedding bands - a timeless debate
Share
Let's start a discussion about wedding bands and specifically, the debate between flat and domed bands.
Flat wedding bands have a straight, rectangular shape. They offer a more modern and sleek look.
On the other hand, domed wedding bands have a curved, rounded shape. They have a more traditional look. The rounded outside surface makes them feel a bit more comfortable to wear..
Ultimately, the choice between flat and domed bands comes down to personal preference and style. Both styles can be made in a variety of metals and finishes, with or without added gemstones, so it's really up to you to decide which look you prefer.
I have certainly sold far more domed wedding bands over the years. Mostly because they match most of my engagement ring designs better since most have a slightly domed shank.
Many people like to match the wedding rings to the engagement ring. However I do like the look of mixing and matching different band shapes and finishes in a set like the stack shown below.
So, what do you think? Are you team flat or team domed when it comes to wedding bands?
