I had this incredible precision-cut Tanzanian sapphire for many years. I always envisioned it set in a semi-bezel Fold ring or the modified tension set design in either rose gold or yellow gold to bring out the warm colors in this gem. But I just could not make up my mind and so it stayed in my vault. I decided now to list it as a loose gemstone on my built-your-own ring page and photographed it in the new Ivy ring setting. And wow! It just clicked.
It would make such an incredible eye-catching engagement or right-hand ring. The double prongs cradle the gem in just the right places. Still undecided about what metal it looks best in. Set in yellow or rose gold it will really highlight the warm fire in this stone. Set in white gold or platinum will provide a stunning contrast and make this stone pop.
