Yellow-Green Cushion Montana Sapphire Fold Solitaire Engagement Ring

One-of-a-kind engagement ring with a genuine untreated yellow-green Montana sapphire set in a semi-bezel setting. The unique sapphire was cut by Jeffrey Hapeman from rough from the Rock Creek deposits in the mountains of Philipsburg, Montana.

Your ring will be custom-made with the sapphire shown laid into the sample mounting. Your ring will be made in your metal of choice to fit this very special and unique gemstone. The ring will be carved out of wax, cast in precious metal, handset, and hand-finished.

The genuine untreated Montana sapphire has a gorgeous yellow-green color. It is a very lively stone with excellent cutting. The faceted Sapphire is about ~0.72 carat and measures 5.4 x 4.6 x 3.4 mm. It was faceted in a custom oval/cushion brilliant design to best utilize the natural shape of the gem rough.

The color is an interesting mix as the gem had a golden yellow center and a blue-green rim.  In most lighting, it shows as a medium yellow-green.  Under fluorescent lighting, the color shifts to a more greenish yellow. In daylight, it can appear yellow to greenish-yellow depending on the angle its viewed.  Very unique!  The gem is completely natural and unheated and has outstanding brilliance with just a bit of glow from the silk. The silk you can see here in the photos is not visible in the hand and is proof that the gem has not been heated.

The gemstone will be hand set and the ring will have a mirror polished finish (satin brushed finish on the outside of the band is possible upon request). The band varies between 2.5 to 3 mm wide. Height above the finger about 4.5-5 mm.
